BookMark features an eclectic mix of poetry, literature, music and the spoken word. It is presented by Mark Crees and is on air once a month on a Thursday from 7pm until 8pm.

The programme acts as a showcase for all kinds of writing and anything to do with books! So far, we have broadcast items on poetry, novels, theatre, travel books, song writing, autobiography, storytelling and even visual art.

BookMark also regularly features young writers from local schools. Reading out a poem or a story on live radio is a great way for students to hone their skills of recitation and build confidence in performance.

Information for Participants

  • Please could all performers bring two copies of their work with them to the studio, with their full name, and the title, clearly printed at the top of each page.
  • If you have any music on CD which you associate with your writing or reading, then please bring that in and we might be able to play it. We are always looking for new ways of combining music with the spoken word.
  • As a rule, on the night of the programme Mark likes to meet all guests at 6.30pm in the Tower Block reception.
